WHY NOURISH ACADEMY

Healthcare is shifting faster than training programs.

As healthcare increasingly emphasizes prevention, lifestyle medicine, and whole-person care, the need for practical, real-world training continues to grow. Nourish Academy was created to bridge the gap between understanding the science and applying it in practice.

ABOUT THE ACADEMY

Nourish Academy is a structured 12-week professional development program that equips students and health professionals with practical knowledge and skills in metabolic health, behavior change, client education, program development, and evidence-based coaching. Each week, you learn key concepts and apply them through hands-on projects, case-based learning, guided feed back, and supervised practice experiences where applicable.

Rather than simply completing readings or passing quizzes, you’ll apply what you learn through hands-on projects and practical assignments. You’ll create client education materials, develop nutrition workshops, produce educational videos, and participate in live classes.

By the end of the program, you’ll have a portfolio that demonstrates your learning and showcases your skills. These completed projects will serve as practical resources you can continue to use and build on throughout your professional career.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

At Nourish Academy, learning is designed to move beyond information and into practice.

Our curriculum combines evidence-based nutrition and health education with applied learning, communication practice, collaborative discussion, reflection, and feedback. Participants are encouraged to think critically, communicate clearly, apply concepts responsibly, and consider the realities that shape health and behavior.

Our approach is informed by current evidence and guidance from leading professional and public health organizations, including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, CDC, NIH, NHLBI, AHRQ, and the Interprofessional Education Collaborative, alongside relevant peer-reviewed research.

Every participant brings different experiences, goals, and professional interests. We approach accessibility, flexibility, cultural humility, and whole-person thinking as ongoing practices that shape how we teach, learn, and work with others.

Our Graduates

Alumni have gone on to advance their education and careers, build and grow private practices, and develop workshops and educational programs.

Admissions

Our 12-week academy allows students to create their own schedules and work at their own pace. Live classes are typically held on Tuesdays during spring and summer and Thursdays during fall.

The only time-bound requirements are to attend all live classes and submit weekly assignments and labs by their deadlines. These deadlines ensure our team has sufficient time to review submissions and provide feedback.
